Intermountain, a visionary non-profit that has been impacting the lives of children and families in Montana for over 100 years, is seeking an experienced Senior Development Officer (SDO) in the Flathead Valley.  As a senior member of Intermountain’s development team, the SDO will play a leadership role in the fulfillment of Intermountain’s ambitious philanthropic goals. The SDO works closely with the Development team and Chief Strategy Officer to design, coordinate, implement and evaluate a comprehensive, fund development program. This position works principally with Flathead Valley volunteers, donors, and prospects, including individuals, churches, businesses and foundations, to raise friends and funds to promote Intermountain’s vision and mission. Working with others, the SDO takes a leadership role in the creation and execution of the annual giving plan for the Flathead Valley, including special events, for donor acquisition, cultivation, moves management, and fund raising. The SDO will also maintains an active client list of Major Giving donors and prospects from the Flathead Valley.  The SDO has a high degree of public interface and represents Intermountain with professionalism, warmth, and social/emotional intelligence. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who has exceptional oral and written communication skills, is passionate for the mission, and is highly professional, gracious and approachable.  Ideally, the candidate will possess a working knowledge of charitable tax law and planned giving instruments.  Knowledge of development software such as Razor’s Edge and Crescendo is also highly desirable.

 

The SDO is supervised by the Chief Strategy Officer. This role supervises the Special Events Coordinator.

 

The position will be open until filled, but the first round of review of applicants and scheduling of interviews is targeted for February 15th.
