Intermountain is a non-profit agency that has been impacting the lives of children and families for over 100 years and we are currently looking for a Psychotherapist for our Residential Facility in Helena.

Overview:

Nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, our Intensive Residential services are designed for girls and boys, ages 4-13 on admission. Thirty-two children live in four cottages on a 40 acre campus in the capital city of Helena, Montana. The length of stay varies from 15 – 20 months.

Our highly integrated, intermediate residential services structure daily living experiences, clinical therapies and academics, and facilitate optimum healing opportunities. Treatment includes clinical and educational assessments, individualized treatment plans, individual, group and family therapies, medication management, an accredited on-campus school offering a full spectrum of educational services, and a variety of outdoor and community activities.

  • Emotional dysregulation

    • Anxiety
    • Intractable anger
    • Adoption issues
    • Attachment and relationship issues
    • ADD, ADHD
    • PTSD
    • Impulsivity, including lying and stealing
    • Oppositionality and/or defiance
    • Aggression towards self and others
    • School problems
    • Loss and grief issues
    • Poor social skills, and social development
    • High functioning Autistic Spectrum Disorder
    • Peer relationships

Summary:

Psychotherapists plan, review and execute individual, group and family psychotherapy.  They provide the clinical direction that guides treatment and provide the teams with a picture of the inner workings of the child and family; are responsible to ensure that treatment of the children is clinically sound and ethical; co-lead the family team dynamics staff groups and are responsible to ensure that the groups are professionally and safely conducted; assure the maintenance of the ethical standards of their respective licensures, accept direction and supervision from those more qualified, and provide supervision to those less qualified; responsible to provide in-service trainings on relevant issues in the treatment of children; provide emergency back-up for impending or emerging psychological crises of children.  As members of Core team, they are responsible to collaborate in the maintenance of a sound, respectful and emotionally healthy team culture.

The above knowledge, skills and abilities are generally acquired through a 60 credit Master’s degree from an accredited university in professional counseling, a Master’s in Social Work with focus on clinical social work, or psychological counseling.  Applicants must be licensed or a licensure candidate licensed by the State of Montana’s Board of Behavioral health as an LCPC or LCSW.

Applicant must have (2) years experience with children before or following completion of Master’s degree Training and/or experience in attachment theory, attachment-based therapeutic approaches and trauma informed care.  Must possess or maintain a valid driver’s license.
