Growing up in our complex world can be overwhelming, and families may seek support to meet the needs of their children with developmental, psychological, behavioral, and emotional health needs.

With over a century of experience working with children and families, Intermountain provides services that help children, families, and young adults grow healthy and strong. Most insurance plans are accepted.

We provide mental health support through:

  • School-Based Services
  • Occupational and Speech Therapy
  • Family & Community Services
  • Therapeutic Day Treatment and Residential Care

School-Based Services

Classroom of children

Intermountain meets kids and families where they are by partnering with local schools to offer a variety of school-based mental health services.

In School-Based Outpatient Therapy we provide a therapist on site, at school, so that a child can have easy access to support without having to leave the building.

Some kids can benefit from more intensive support at school. Through our Comprehensive School and Community Treatment (CSCT) program, we provide a dedicated mental health specialist and therapist at school, creating individualized treatment and support plans.

Sometimes families seek support not just for their child, but for everyone at home. The Family Empowerment Program offers exactly that-parenting classes, supportive groups, and child-focused mental health services that strengthen the entire family. Both parents and children can learn and practice new skills with support from mental health specialists and therapists.

“Intermountain helps students develop emotional awareness, resilience, and build stronger relationships. This support is crucial to student success”- 7th grade teacher, Bozeman MT.

Occupational and Speech Therapy

At Intermountain, we believe that occupational and speech therapy integrated in a behavioral health program supports kids and families holistically! Our therapists have extensive training in supporting the development of emotional regulation and social skills. We operate through movement and play to integrate the brain, body, and self for optimal performance and participation while meeting your child where they are.

Intermountain’s Occupational Therapy team works with youth to improve everyday functioning skills. Some of those skills can include fine motor (hand-eye coordination), ocular motor skills (eye movements), whole body movements, sensory processing, and daily activities (such as dressing or hygiene).

We strive to improve independence while educating children and their families working through difficult situations at home, school, and in the community.

Our Speech-Language Therapy team works with children to prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social, communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.

Our speech therapists can address issues such as a child’s understanding and processing of verbally presented information, like following directions or remembering details from a story.

Additionally, speech therapy can address a child’s ability to use language to communicate a variety of different functions (requesting, asking questions, answering questions, protesting, commenting/labeling).

Therapeutic Residential and Day Treatment Care

Intermountain Day Treatment School

Intermountain’s Residential Program supports youth ages 4-13 upon admission. It includes cozy cottages for up to eight children in a nurturing home-like environment that seamlessly integrates daily living, clinical therapies, and individualized academic services to create optimal healing.

“Intermountain gave me a life worth living”- Former Residential Client

Our approach to treatment is centered on our Developmental Relational Model. That means we use a developmental lens to view a child’s behavioral challenges and offer solutions that intentionally build connected relationships to help children and families heal. Treatment encompasses personalized clinical assessments, specially tailored treatment plans, individual, group, and family therapies, medication management, and an accredited on-campus school. We also offer a diverse range of outdoor and community activities to improve a child’s self-esteem and get them back on track to be successful at home and school.

Through our Day Treatment Program, Intermountain partners with nearby schools to offer therapeutic education for local kids in our private accredited school. Kids enrolled in the program benefit from our innovative treatment model in an academic setting with small classes and individualized attention, along with therapeutic support for the child and family. Because the Intermountain Day Treatment Program focuses on meeting emotional, physical, and academic needs holistically; we create pathways for success both in school and at home.
