Description	The Special Education Technician position provides a variety of direct and non-direct care duties in the provision of educatiservices to emotionally disturbed children and maintenance of a therapeutic milieu. As a member of the Education team this position functions in a highly flexible manner, working closely with teachers, school support counselors, and stakeholders to assure services. The Technician supervises the children providing care and control promoting an atmosphere of security and trust. This position functions in a complimentary role to the teacher and others in the provision of services and assumes a substitute role in their absence. Ideal candidate possesses ability to work with emotionally disturbed children, acquired through an education equivalent to two years of post secondary education in a related field and two (2) years’ experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience in caring for special needs children. Salary DOE; Starting Wage: $12.31 – $13.05 per hour; Includes Benefits
